James Ramos
Headmaster, Wollemi CollegeWollemi College is guided by a Headmaster who leads with clarity, conviction and a deep commitment to character.
Mr James Ramos brings decades of educational experience and a strong connection to the Pared community. Formerly Head of Primary at our brother school, Redfield College, he was appointed to lead Wollemi in 2021—bringing his expertise in boys’ education and character formation to Western Sydney.
James is a dedicated educator and experienced mentor, shaped by his belief in the potential of every student. He sees education as a partnership grounded in trust—where schools support families to raise young men of virtue, faith and resilience. Under his leadership, Wollemi continues to grow as a place where character is formed, faith is deepened and every boy is called to become his best self.
1:1 Mentoring
At Wollemi, every boy is paired with a dedicated mentor (member of staff) — a trusted guide who meets with him one-on-one every fortnight.
More than a check-in, it’s character education with a holistic focus and a lasting relationship built on encouragement, character growth, and personal leadership.

Academic Initiatives
Our aim is to challenge each student to reach his full academic potential through effective classroom teaching and the development of internalised motivation and good habits.
Initiatives at Wollemi designed to support your son include:
- Differentiated instruction across all year levels, with tasks and expectations tailored to each student’s ability.
Primary School:
- Early literacy is taught using the respected Spalding Method, a structured, phonics-based approach that builds competence in reading, writing, and spelling.
- Extension for Gifted Learners – gifted students are extended through differentiated tasks, critical thinking and targeted enrichment. Selected boys in Years 4–6 join the Mathematics Olympiad, while others take part in external academic competitions. These experiences deepen engagement and help students explore their strengths beyond the classroom.
Secondary School:
- The Honour Program in Years 7–10, offering project-based enrichment in English, Mathematics, Science, History, Art and Music.
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) options available through external providers, managed and supported by Wollemi staff.
Father and Son Camps
Wollemi College is known for its Father and Son camps. With a well-established and ever-growing program, the College sees involvement in camps as an opportunity for students to explore their talents and grow in character, both on and off the school campus.

Our Infants Programs nurture children aged 5 to 7 in a bright, supportive environment, fostering a love of learning, strong character, and essential literacy and numeracy skills through the proven WRAP method and a well-rounded curriculum.

At Wollemi College, we prepare students to reach their potential and contribute meaningfully to society by promoting responsibility, scholarship, and respect for truth.
Enrolment Process

ATTEND AN OPEN DAY
Registration is required to attend. Registered participants will be invited to attend the next available Open Day.
If the Open Day is fully booked, there is no event currently running, or you are interested in a long-term future date, please register your interest so that our Enrolments team can notify you of future Open Days.

Invitation to Apply
Attendance at an Open Day is required prior to receiving an application form. Once attendance is verified an application form is sent. Submissions will be charged an application fee ($100 per new family, no additional fee for siblings).
Please note that applications are subject to availability at all stages of the enrolment process. If there is no placement available for a particular cohort, the application will be waitlisted.

Interview selection
Applications and assessments will be reviewed. A selection of suitable applicants will be invited to attend an interview with the School Leadership Team.

Receive notification
An official enrolment offer OR notification of unsuccessful application is sent.

Acceptance
Applicants who receive an offer are invited to accept. Once accepted an enrolment acceptance fee is charged ($500 for first child, $200 for each additional child).
